While both types of facilities regulate temperature, they do so for different purposes. A temperature-controlled warehouse typically maintains a set temperature range to preserve the integrity of goods sensitive to temperature fluctuations. However, these warehouses focus solely on controlling temperature and may not address other environmental factors like humidity. In addition, most temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled warehouses leave their doors open year-round to help airflow, therefore aiding in cooling the facility. By doing so, they let dust in and, at times, intruders, resulting in higher risks for theft. On the other hand, a climate-controlled warehouse goes beyond temperature regulation to manage a broader range of environmental factors, including temperature, humidity, air quality, and sometimes even lighting. This comprehensive approach ensures that goods are stored in optimal conditions to prevent damage or degradation, making climate-controlled warehouses suitable for a wider range of products.
